I got a Pentium 100, with 32MB EDO Ram, 4x8MB, ant it works fine.. I have kernel 2.1.10 and this is what top shows:
CPU states: 0.3% user, 0.5% system, 0.9% nice, 99.1% idle Mem: 31088K av, 15772K used, 15316K free, 7668K shrd, 3232K buff
Maybe there's something wrong with your 16MB Ram chips? Or, is it a problem with the motherboards? Maybe they can't handle 16MB EDO Ram's properly?
