OK, we made the mistake to buy a Compex PCI card...
I tried it with a 486/66 in an older PCI board (3 PCI slots). modprobe ne2k-pci detects the card (I/O 0x4040, IRQ 12), but ifconfig freezes the box or makes it issue endless messages about interrupt 12 from unknown device.
Linux version is 2.0.35 (SuSE) or 2.0.pre36-8. Both use version 0.99L of the ne2k driver (newest version I know of). Other PCI devices are a 3c590 ethernet card and a graphic card.
I found no reports of similar problems, so I assume the driver is OK and the hardware has a problem. Is this correct?
If someone suspects a bug I will gladly send him all information I can get.
