Take this the other way: if we get it implemented into Linux, it will become an AIX killer limit :-)
Ted: I _do_ understand your arguments, but: ext2fs works without b trees, large directories make it slow but not unusable. The 2GB limit is a hard one. So please keep it on your to-do list (preferrably at the top of it :).
