I have control of an aix 3.2.5 system and have found a kewl feature, that I think may be nice to have in Linux. Perhaps this feature is already there, or in the works, but here goes.
Network options are configurable on the fly, like almost everything else in aix [except for removing swap], using a problem called no. I think it would be nice to be able to change ip forwarding, for example, on an already running kernel, without recompiling/rebooting (I like to see long uptimes for Linux).
no -a gives a list of options and their current settings. no -o ip_forwarding=1 -o tcp_sendspace=16384 makes changes.
