The Linux Projects Map (http://www.ix.de/ix/linux/Projects-Map.html) contains details of a project to develop a Temporary Filesystem (tmpfs).
The details were entered in February 1996, the estimated time of arrival was July 1996 and the current status was "in ALPHA".
I sent e-mail to the author, Jeff Garzik (jgarzik@pobox.com), on 2 January 1996 but have not yet received a reply.
Is the tmpfs project still active? What is its current status?
I am working on a project that is a potential user of tmpfs and would be willing to assist in the testing of this filesystem.
Thanks in anticipation -- John Connett email: jrc@art.co.uk Systems Engineer voice: +44 1223 563854 Advanced Rendering Technology fax: +44 1223 516520 web: www.art.co.uk
