SubjectAnyone using /dev/sbpcd with linux 2.0 ?
Date

Hi,

If you use /dev/sbpcd and tried to compile 2.0, how did it go?

Did you get this after reboot?

mount: block device /dev/sbpcd is write-protected, mounting read-only
sbpcd-0 [09]: bad cc_ReadStatus after read: 00
sbpcd-0 [10]: st_check detected - retrying.
mount: wrong fs type or bad superblock on /dev/sbpcd

As soon as I reboot with any of my previous 1.3.xx (I have other 5
vmlinuz'es
of all kinds but with the same configurations!), everything works fine. To
recompile
kernels I always use my config file where nothing has changed, so incorrect
kernel configuration options are ruled out. Even when I tried to compile 2.0
answering
all the [Y,n] questions from the scratch, without using my previous config
files,
I was still unable to mount my /dev/sbpcd on reboot. BTW, I didn't use
menuconfig
or xconfig.

Just for the sake of experiment, I decided to un-install 2.0. then installed
1.3.100
source and "made zlilo" again. Everything went fine.

Someone's made an error, and I guess it's not me :)
