I believe I've seen this error, and the solution posted here before, but I
wasn't following it. This is compiling kernel 2.1.13

arch/i386/mm/mm.o(.text+0xbe7): undefined reference to `__stop___ex_table'
make: *** [vmlinux] Error 1
