Hey,
I'm having trouble getting any kernel I build to recognize my ncr53c875-based SCSI card. I'm trying to build a 2.0.33 kernel, although I tried 2.0.32 as well without any luck. With .33 it finds my adaptec 2940 just fine but misses the ncr completely. With .32 it still found the 2940 but gave me a bunch of scsi bus reset timeout-type errors.
Booting with the standard debian 2.0.29 kernel found the card without any problems.
Is there anything tricky about building a kernel with the ncr53c7,8xx driver? Is there something simple I'm missing? (I tried various combinations of the options menuconfig gave me with .33 with the same results... always negotiate synchronous transfers, allow FAST-SCSI, and allow disconnect.)
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated! thanks in advance-- sage
