The harddisk is a Quantum Bigfoot IDE.
I ran the oops report through ksymoops :
# ksymoops < /var/log/messages > textfilename.txt
I am attaching the output. I am concerned as to whether the error resulting in the crash is due to hardware failure, or miscommunication with an "overbloated" kernel or a bug in this kernel release.
What do you think?
Thanks a bunch,
- Mike
