Subjectoopses: i386 linux-2.4.10, es1371 sound card, analog joystick
Hello, I have a lot of problems with the latest kernel and my 1371 sound
card. It used to work fine in all earlier kernels and 2.4.9ac7.

Now I get the following reproducible oops if I load, unload and reload the
analog.o module. When I reload analog with modprobe -v analog, modprobe
segfaults and lsmod shows analog.o stuck in "Initializing"

I have already made mrproper, deleteted the modules dir
2.4.10 and rebuilt from scratch. I can not program C, so I am not subscribed
to the list, please cc: me for any questions.

Here is the output of dmesg|ksymoops on SuSE-7.2:
*****************
ksymoops 2.4.1 on i686 2.4.10. Options used
-V (default)
-k /proc/ksyms (default)
-l /proc/modules (default)
-o /lib/modules/2.4.10/ (default)
-m /boot/System.map-2.4.10 (default)

Warning: You did not tell me where to find symbol information. I will
assume that the log matches the kernel and modules that are running
right now and I'll use the default options above for symbol resolution.
If the current kernel and/or modules do not match the log, you can get
more accurate output by telling me the kernel version and where to find
map, modules, ksyms etc. ksymoops -h explains the options.

Why do I get these warnings? What is wrong with my system? Any answer
appreciated. Hardware error unlikely because it works fine with earlier
kernels.
