I have an ABIT VP6 (YT bios) with dual p3-1Ghz and 1Gb SDRAM. I have my boot disk (hda) and my CDROM (hdc) connected to the VIA controller. My /home disk (hdi) and my CDRW (hdk) are connected to the onboard HPT370 controller. I also have a Promise ULTRA66 in the box but its currently empty. I have no problems except, sometimes when i go to burn a CD, the proccess fails midway (therefore ruining the CDR) and more often than not these messages are in the logs:
Oct 14 19:32:58 thor kernel: ide-scsi: CoD != 0 in idescsi_pc_intr Oct 14 19:32:58 thor kernel: hdk: ATAPI reset complete
Does anybody know whats going on ? I attach the relevant info. If you need any more, please ask. -- Ricardo Ferreira00:00.0 Host bridge: VIA Technologies, Inc.
