Sure. Oracle etc will leap into action and put out a fix so fast you can't see their ftp site change.

Given //ipc or freebsd, I think I'd pick freebsd. Thats how ugly the idea is to me ok.

All the /proc kludges have been over parsing, erratic file formats and poor design decisions with layout. Not over mounting /proc itself. Its as simple as putting the mount command in the right place. This is not rocket science.
