Subject[PATCH 2.3.x] IDE probe fix

This patch fixes a compile problem on m68k, where ide_ioreg_t is typedef'd as
`unsigned char *'.

As per the ANSI/ISO C standard, the difference between two variables of the
same type is always of an integer type.

when I'm talking to journalists I just say "programmer" or something like that.
