I'm trying to upgrade RH 6.1 kernel 2.2.14-20. I need to add Ultra DMA 66 support and support for the Athlon K7-650. I tried to compile the 2.2.14 kernel and when I rebooted the system it just kept rebooting. Would hardly even get started loading linux kernel. I looked at lilo and noticed that it is still using some of the old kernel stuff. I"ve enclosed both lilo.conf and the directory. I notice that there is no system.map for the new kernel. I must be missing some steps. I also need to know the best kernel to use currently.
Thank you in advance for all ur help
