Subject32-bit UID kernel support and glibc 2 ?

Now that kernel 2.3.39 and beyond support 32-bit UID numbers, does anyone
know if there is any plan to build high UID support into future glibc 2
releases?

I've seen unofficial 32-bit UID patches for glibc 2 but nothing in the
latest development releases of glibc 2 to support 32-bit UIDs.
