When I compile without the fb stuff, I can > finally compile a 2.3 kernel, but it doesn't boot :( I'v added a 0 as last parameter in ioremap for io_remap_page_range macro and my alpha booted correctly in graphic mode with the linux logo! (sx164 + matroxfb)
