Subjectbttv module and system freeze
Hi,

I'm seeing total system freezes (no response to Alt+SysRq) when starting
xawtv with the videodev, bttv modules still loaded. If I wait long enough
(so that the modules get automatically unloaded) or if I manually unload
them I have no problems.
When the system freezes I get the following message (copied by hand):

v4l: oops: got sigalarm
ioctl VIDIOCSYNC: Interrupt system call

Is this a known issue? Any advice?

I'm running:
kernel 2.2.12 SMP
xawtv-2.46 (compiled in this box)

/etc/conf.modules:
alias char-major-81 bttv
options bttv card=11
post-install bttv modprobe -k tuner type=8

(I found this settings to work OK with my card- ixTV from ixmicro)

Thanks for any help,

Rui Sousa

P.S: I previously send this to the video4linux list wich
seems to be dead.
