Hi,
I seem to have a problem with the HPT366 IDE controller on my Abit BP6 dual Celeron board.
I compiled a 2.2.12 kernel with the uniform IDE patch (http://opensource.captech.com/LinuxIDE/: 2.2.10.uniform-ide-6.20.draco.patch). When both CPUs are on the board and I stress test a drive on the controller (dd if=/dev/hde of=/dev/null bs=204800 count=2000), this will hang the machine after a while. The machine hangs more quickly if I do some network stuff as well (tcpblast).
If I use the same kernel, but with only CPU, the test keeps on running for ever.
If I use two CPUs but with the HPT driver disabled in the kernel, I do not see any problems either (but the drive is really slow, no DMA).
I also tried 2.3.18, but there I have the same problems. Also note that the drive seems much slower then with 2.2.
I can repeat the problem when I insert a HPT366 card on the same motherboard and attach the drive to that controller.
