SubjectPROBLEM: can't ping odd size packets in linux 2.2
Pinging odd size packets > 10 causes no response.

Hi all,

I have a peculiar problem. I can not ping with an odd sized packet.
e.g. ping -s 11 localhost. I used 'netstat -s' and observed that
the 'input ICMP message failed.' count increments. Odd size pings
smaller than 10 are not effected. One guess is that some checksum is
not computed correctly, but I haven't had time to look into the source
code. This effects all 2.2 kernels I've tried (2.2.5 and 2.2.10).
The problem does not exist in linux 2.0.36.

Strange, eh?

-Mike
