I just compiled and installed 2.3.13 on a basically stock RedHat 6.0 installation. The boot proceeds up until:
VFS: Mounted root (ext2 filesystem) readonly. Freeing unused kernel memory: 76k freed kmod: failed to exec /sbin/modprobe -s -k binfmt-0000, errno=2 kmod: failed to exec /sbin/modprobe -s -k binfmt-0000, errno=2
What is "binfmt-0000"? I see modules "binfmt_aout.o" and "binfmt_misc.o" in my /lib/modules/2.3.13/fs directory. Are these somehow related? (CONFIG_BINFMT_ELF=y in my .config)
Software: egcs-2.91.66, modutils-2.1.121-12
Hardware: Soyo BX motherboard, Celeron 300A (not overclocked for this test), 128MB SDRAM. 10GB EIDE hard drive. /boot resides under 1024 cylinder barrier, / resides above 1024 cylinder barrier.
Any assistance is greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Mike.
