By precisely the same argument "normal users" are not running Linux so the case is closed.

Oh, you can ask various secretaries around here what TeX is. They know it perfectly well as they write it all the time. You may have quarrels with a markup quality, but this is another story.
A fact that you are not using something and do not have a need and/or experience with it does not make you yet "normal" by a long shot. :-)
