The environment is:
2.1.126 fetchmail v4.6.5 sendmail v8.9.1a
Occasionally, when I download a large email with fetchmail, I get a "broken pipe" message. The last part of the strace for fetchmail looks like this: -----
recv(3, "contained in S-13, he and other "..., 8191, MSG_PEEK) = 7222 read(3, "contained in S-13, he and other "..., 71) = 71 setitimer(ITIMER_REAL, {it_interval={0, 0}, it_value={0, 0}}, NULL) = 0 setitimer(ITIMER_REAL, {it_interval={0, 0}, it_value={300, 0}}, NULL) = 0 recv(3, "Kenny\'s bill on procedural grou"..., 8191, MSG_PEEK) = 7151 read(3, "Kenny\'s bill on procedural grou"..., 37) = 37 setitimer(ITIMER_REAL, {it_interval={0, 0}, it_value={0, 0}}, NULL) = 0 setitimer(ITIMER_REAL, {it_interval={0, 0}, it_value={300, 0}}, NULL) = 0 recv(3, "\r\nNow the health coalition is "..., 8191, MSG_PEEK) = 7114 read(3, "\r\n", 2) = 2 setitimer(ITIMER_REAL, {it_interval={0, 0}, it_value={0, 0}}, NULL) = 0 setitimer(ITIMER_REAL, {it_interval={0, 0}, it_value={300, 0}}, NULL) = 0 recv(3, "Now the health coalition is tryi"..., 8191, MSG_PEEK) = 7112 read(3, "Now the health coalition is tryi"..., 74) = 74 setitimer(ITIMER_REAL, {it_interval={0, 0}, it_value={0, 0}}, NULL) = 0 write(5, "that exhort kids to do better an"..., 4096) = -1 EPIPE (Broken pipe) --- SIGPIPE (Broken pipe) --- write(2, "fetchmail: ", 11fetchmail: ) = 11 write(2, "terminated with signal 13", 25terminated with signal 13) = 25 write(2, "\n", 1 ) = 1 unlink("//.fetchids") = -1 ENOENT (No such file or directory) unlink("/var/run/fetchmail.pid") = 0 write(5, "that exhort kids to do better an"..., 4096) = -1 EPIPE (Broken pipe) munmap(0x400db000, 4096) = 0 _exit(0) = ? -----

Any ideas on what the problem is here?
