I get timeouts when trying to record a CD using cdrecord, after Calibrating laser.... I get:
cdrecord: Input/output error. opt_power_judge: scsi sendcmd: retryable error CDB: EC 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 status: 0x2 (CHECK CONDITION) Sense Bytes: 70 00 04 00 00 00 00 0A 00 00 00 07 9C 00 00 00 Sense Key: 0x4 Hardware Error, Segment 0 Sense Code: 0x9C Qual 0x00 (opc execution eror) Fru 0x0 Sense flags: Blk 0 (not valid) cmd finished after 3.867s timeout 60s done.
with 2.1.113 and aic7xxx-5.1.0pre6 it doesn't happen, I'm currently using 2.1.120pre2 and aic7xxx-5.1.0pre8 (it also happens with 5.1.0pre7 and with 2.1.120pre3 and 2.1.120).
The CD is a valid CD, I have been able to record it after resetting and trying again with cdrecord-1.6.1a3, but this version will fail if I try to record a second CD (the 1.6 version won't even record the first)
I have a dual PII 300 (SMP enabled) and an onboard adaptec 2940 (Supermicro P6DLS mainboard), if you have any question ask me.
