Sorry about the off topic intrusion on the kernel list, but I got no useful reply from the developer or linux-admin:
I am trying to get amd to mount and smb filesystem.
Here's is my mount map: hiss host!=${key};type:=auto;fs:=${map};pref:=${key}/ \ host==${key};type:=link;fs:=/local hiss/* type:=program;fs:=${autodir}/${key};\ mount:="/usr/sbin/smbmount /usr/sbin/smbmount /${key} ${fs} -u 0 -U barbar -P foofoo -c${host}";\ unmount:="/usr/sbin/smbumount /usr/sbin/smbumount ${fs}"
If I invoke the amd mount the command that it tries to run it invariably fails with:
Sep 8 20:36:37 carbon-tet amd[2245]: amd.conf mounted fstype auto on /nfs/hiss Sep 8 20:36:44 carbon-tet amd[2245]: /nfs/hiss/H323: mount (afs_cont): Operatio n not permitted
But if I run the command by hand (xcut out of the amd logs) it runs just fine.
I substituted in a script to determine who is running the command, and it's root.
Anyone have any ideas?
