I has to do with sound configuration. When I configured sound, my
network
card stopped working (it did not look like I had a io or interrupt
clash).
The only way to get the network card to work again was to run pnpdump.
Just
that fixed the problem for the network card. One song, pnpdump, one
song,
pnpdump... However, after that, loading just about any module (say ppp)
will
shift the screen. The fix is to load and unload ppp 8 times. It scrolls
back
to its proper place!!! Windowsesque, no?
