Well, at last I get resynced with the development kernel, 5.0.19 finally works with 2.1.106 (+patch or 2.1.106-ac1), after many reboots I finally found the thing that was screwing things up. I have the ultra scsi speed enabled, and the maximun transfer rate was set to 40 Mb/s for all devices, changing this to 20 Mb/s (= disabling ultra speed) for the cdroms devices made things works again!, I have an Adaptec 2940 on board (on a SuperMicro P6DLS), and now 2.1.106-ac1+pcspeaker patch+joystick-1.2.2 is working as well as 2.1.102. By the way, why not including the joystick driver into the dev. series, it's working fine here (analog joystick and Logitech digital joystick), and anyway, more people could test it if it were included in the standard series. In the other hand the loop device still doesn't work, it would hang up the kernel, you can change the terminal but cannot write anything althoug CTRL+BlqScroll and SHIFT+BlqScroll work, CTRL+ALT+DEL doen't work.
That's all, and please test this solution for the aic7xxx resets problems, (I had to enable no_reset and pci_parity, this last both in lilo and in the Adaptec BIOS).
