Subject2.1.103: Hard crash with Aha 1542A.

Hello,
Using 2.1.103 with EISA 486DX2/66 Micronics motherboard
and aha1542A aha1742 combo as described below gives:
Hard kernel crash, no nothing state when modprobeing the aha1542.o.
The aha1542 driver is a module and the aha1740 driver is compiled
into the kernel.
