Hi, all. I've released v1.16 of my MTRR (set Memory Type Range Registers) patch. It may be found at: http://www.atnf.csiro.au/~rgooch/kernel-patches.html
For those who don't know what this is about: you can gain an easy 2.5x speedup blitting images to your PCI video card if you have a PPro/PII.
This patch is against kernel 2.1.98, although it should still patch to 2.1.97.
NOTE: people with certain types of GigaByte SMP boards which have different BogoMIPS values for their processors or get lockups on boot should find this patch useful.
CALL to people with more than 2 CPUs: please let me know if this works for you too (it should).
Changes since v1.15:
- Use atomic bitops for setting SMP change mask (this is a minor improvement for the diagnostic message)
