Dave, While attempting to improve the throughput of my ppp link, I discovered a new problem (Van Jacobson is turned off).
If the MRU and MTU is set to 592, ftp data will never be transferred.
Active Internet connections Proto Recv-Q Send-Q Local Address Foreign Address (State) User tcp 0 0 chaos.analogic.com:ftp groveland.analogi:1050 ESTABLISHED root tcp 0 49088 chaos.analogi:ftp-data groveland.analogi:1053 ESTABLISHED root tcp 0 2 chaos.analogic.c:login groveland.analogi:1023 ESTABLISHED root Active UNIX domain sockets Proto RefCnt Flags Type State Path
There is a high send-Q and absolutely nothing, no probes, no nothing comes down the ppp link. Further, I don't see anything having to do with port 1053 going from chaos->quark (ppp server). Everything is dead quiet.
Cheers, Dick Johnson ***** FILE SYSTEM MODIFIED ***** Penguin : Linux version 2.1.90 on an i586 machine (66.15 BogoMips). Warning : It's hard to remain at the trailing edge of technology.
