SubjectUltra DMA on one drive only? (2.1.90)
I just purchased a second UDMA hard drive. My thought was
to place one on each controller. They both can be enabled
with hdparm. But when I try and copy from one drive to the
new one there is a pause, and hdparm now says the dma is
turned off. The board has a 430TX chip set. I am running
RedHat 5.0 with a 2.1.90 kernel. the disk drives are Maxtor
88488D8 3.5" Ultra DMA.

Thanks for any help or pointers.
