Subject: 32-bit UID's
Reply-To: jeffgus@zimage.com

It seems Linux currently supports 16-bit UID's. It looks like AIX
and HP/UX support 32-bit UID's. What is the major thing holding back
32-bit UID's on Linux? Is it a kernel limit, a libc limit, or a
filesystem limit? I thought I remembered seeing a message saying that
glibc would eventually handle 32-bit UID's. Is this true?
