I'm having troubles with 2.0.36 where kerneld is not contacted when access to the cdrom device is requested. Opening /dev/scd0 fails without any kernel error message. If I manually `insmod sr_mod' it all works fine.
Any hint at where the problem could be ? I'm not running a plain 2.0.36 but a 2.0.35+modular-sound+e2compr+sockfs upgraded to 2.0.36, so I may have messed something up in the merging process. But a `diff -ru' of drivers/scsi shows no difference between plain 2.0.36 and my version (as is to be expected since the patches don't involve scsi).
