Hello all, I have been playing around with recent 2.1.X kernels and I have had problems when I try to use filesystems exported by Transarcs AFS to NFS translator. When I drop back to a 2.0.X kernel, my problems go away. I exchanged some email with Bill Hawes, and he told me it looked like the translator was having problems generating uniq inodes. Before I try to investigate this any further, I would like to know if anyone else has tried Linux with the AFS to NFS translator and if you had any problems. I want to rule out the possibility that its something local. Also, if anyone has a machine running the translator that is connected to the internet it would probably make debugging this much easier.
In case anyone is using AFS and does not know if they have the translator, try to export your AFS partition over NFS. If you can do this then your kernel is built with support for the translator. Its not a seperate daemon.
Thanks,
Jim
