Subjectppa_v1.26 (fwd)
Hi,

I hope this isn't off topic for this list, excuse me if it is.

I have just installed the improved version of the Iomega parallel port
by copying the source over the original files (linux/driver/scsi)
and doing a re-build over the original (which worked fine). I have a
loadable module and the Kernel is v 2.0.30.

When I do an insmod ppa it inserts correctly, but I cannot mount /dev/sda4
as before :-

[root@grommit 2.0.x]# mount -t msdos /dev/sda4 /zip
mount: the kernel does not recognize /dev/sda4 as a block device
(maybe `insmod driver'?)

The output from dmesg is the following :-

ppa: Version 1.26s
Probing port 03bc
Probing port 0378
SPP port present
ECP with a 0 byte FIFO present
EPP 1.7
ppa: 0x0378 EPP 32 bit (ECP present)
Probing port 0278
scsi1 : Iomega parport ZIP drive
scsi : 1 host.
scsi : 0 hosts.

Any reason why I can't mount it?? Can you shed some light on what I am
doing wrong here?

Thanks for your time and effort in anticipation of your response,

Sincerely,

Phil Robinson
