Hello,
I found the following lines in my /var/log/messages while I was compiling the kernel on a Diskless Workstation that had mounted root from my saturnus server. The remote machine froze for a longer while but finally accepted Ctrl-C and killed the make thread. After that incident I could not load the floppy module on saturnus because the kernel could not allocate DMA memory. The mother board is Triton ZP and DMA support was compiled into the kernel.
thanks for any ideas,
Jakob
