Subjectext2fs: Compression flag...
Can someone please point me to the ext2fs development group as I wish
to ask about the compression attribute (check the man page on
"chattr"). From what I have seen this is not supported as of 2.1.35
(so I'm a little behind on the latest version).

Does anyone know if files inherit attributes from the parent
directory, (ie: mark a directory as comp. and any files created in
the directory will automatically be compressed).

I am willing to write the necessary code, I currently have a need for
this feature as compiling gcc and g77 on a 100Mb ZIP disk is a bit of
a squeeze.
