Well - that´s what the README says:
: These utilities are intended to work simultaneously with 2.0.x kernels
: as well as 2.1.18 and above. Versions between 2.1.8 and 2.1.17 that
: used a transitionary module exception extension are *not* supported.

I would interpret it in a way that it does work with 2.0.28 ...
