We're getting SMP systems crashing with 2.0.31pre10. These are 300MHz Pentium II systems using the Tyan Tahoe II (S1682D) dual processor board. Most systems go into black death after about 9 hours of testing under heavy load; black screen; no response to any input (keyboard, mouse, or network). The systems are monitored closely during testing so I know almost exactly when they stop responding. I have 4 systems undergoing tests. Usually there are no error messages in the logs or on the console when the machine dies.
In one instance we did get an error logged:
FORWARDED INTERRUPT TIMEOUT (AKP = 1, Saved AKP = 0)
The systems only fail if SMP support is enabled.
Sounds like a deadlock. Susggestions as to how best to track this deadlock down?
Thanks,
Larry
