Generally the problem isn't at all in software, just harddware. I have
experienced the same effect with my Gravis Ultrasound. I think it has to do
with the sound card's amplifier picking up the bus noise. Possible solutions,
turn down the gain/volumen/anything you aren't currently using, the best
solution seems to be use the line out from the sound card and use an external
amp. That way there isn't any amp to pick up bus noise.
