SubjectMysterious hang in 2.0.0 - possibly Triton II?
Hi,
My new machine (P133, Abit Triton II (430HX) m/b, 16Megs EDO RAM,
S3 Trio64V+ graphics, Quantum Sirocco 1.7Gb HD, CD-56E TEAC CDRom,
EZ-2000+ (sic) NE2000 compatible ethernet card) sometimes hangs after
I've left it inactive for a while (= more than 5 hours - I leave it on
overnight).
The console has blanked, and doesn't reappear if I hit a
key. The hard disk light is on. Nothing responds. It's big red switch
time.
There are no kernel logs of any activity around the crash (the
cron/atrun log tells me when it has gone).

Could this be a problem with the Triton II chipset? Could it be a
problem with the APM BIOS? 1.3.100 doesn't seem to do it, though I have
to do much longer-term testing of this! It also happened once with 1.99.7
with my new Triton II patches. It seems to happen both with and without
DMA enabled, though I have to confirm this.
Relevant bits of .config:
