Subjectwhen/how do we rescan partitions?
Date
From

I've made disk partitions for a long time on linux...

I just run utils 2.5 fdisk, and made 3 partitions on /dev/hdb
(empty extended, 2 and 3)

I get (in 1.3.74 under dmesg) :
FS: Disk change detected on device 02:00
hdb:
hdb:
hdb: hdb1 < > hdb2 hdb3
hdb: hdb1 < > hdb2 hdb3
: leisner@thingy;

Does opening up /dev/hdb R/W and writing the parition table
force a rescan of the
partition table?

I don't see it...
