What kernel version? I seem to remember that the new reboot code
defaulted to warm reboots for a while. The only way of disabling
the VSPM mappings after you've written them appears to be to
hard reset the CPU so a warm boot will confuse the hell out of
anything that expects to be able to set up traditional mappings
and have them work :-).
