SubjectKernel_Oops_Help (fwd)

It is interesting that I got the same oops after I upgraded to libc 5.4.14 and
kernel 2.1.14 (from 5.4.10 and 2.1.10 - this combination worked perfectly
fine) The oops occured during bootup when ldconfig was run (I think).

I rebooted the mashine again and got several messages that the soname of
several libraries is wrong. The system booted ok but halted under X.
The following hard ressed corrupted my root file systembeyond automatic repair
:(.

Any Idea what might be causing it? the system was build up from an old
Slackware 2.1 and all crutial kernel related related components were
updated regulary. (the libraries that caused the soname error were
some comercial ones (Moo-tiff) and some old minor one - I'll need to fix
the file system and see exactly which ones.
