SubjectRe: 2.1.8 mouse (serial?) wierdness

The problem with mouse strangeness persists into 2.1.9 I have tried
removing gpm. Removing it does seem to somewhat improve the mouse behavior
under X. It improves from completely unusable to mostly unusable. Has
anybody looked at the changes to the serial driver? I have been busy
fixing a few other bugs of my own making, and haven't looked at it...
