Subject2.1.8 mouse (serial?) wierdness
Date
Kernel 2.1.8 causes my serial mouse pointer to jump erratically both in
console mode (using gpm) and in X. The behavior is identical whether the
serial driver is compiled as a module, or compiled directly into the
kernel. Reverting to 2.1.7 or 2.0.25 fixes the problem. (Nothing but the
kernel was changed). I have not taken a look at the changes made in
patch-2.1.8 to drivers/char/serial.c but I suspect that there is a problem
in there somewhere. My 33.6 modem is able to connect to the net (or you
wouldn't be reading this), but throughput seems erratic as well. Anybody
else experience this?
