Hi Linux experts,
I suddenly have a problem with Linux kernel crashes. It looks like a kernel problem. Maybe I can help to
Here is my "bug report form":
[1.] One line summary of the problem: Linux crashes without any report/log (everything freezes) when a "special IP-connection" is made through Linux as router.
[2.] Full description of the problem/report: On a client in our (private) IP-network the software "Morpheus 1.33" from http://www.musiccity.com is started. When the Morpheus client connects to the "Morpheus Server" the Linux box freezes. Linux is our IP-router from 192.168.1.x-network to Internet. On the Linux box iptables with Masquerading is running. The Internet port is pppoe connected to a ADSL modem. There is no logging information about the crash. Keyboard, network and everything else is frozen. Only hardware reset helps. We tested several times and the result is alway the same...
[3.] Keywords (i.e., modules, networking, kernel): networking
[4.] Kernel version (from /proc/version): root@al-net-mun-00:/usr/src/linux-2.4.4.SuSE > cat /proc/version Linux version 2.4.4 (root@al-net-mun-00) (gcc version 2.95.3 20010315 (SuSE)) #4 Wed Nov 7 20:07:27 MET 2001
[5.] Output of Oops.. message (if applicable) with symbolic information resolved (see Documentation/oops-tracing.txt) [6.] A small shell script or example program which triggers the problem (if possible) [7.] Environment [7.1.] Software (add the output of the ver_linux script here) root@al-net-mun-00:/usr/src/linux-2.4.4.SuSE > sh scripts/ver_linux If some fields are empty or look unusual you may have an old version. Compare to the current minimal requirements in Documentation/Changes.
