Hello,
I just downloaded 2.3.50, and get this error (I did make mrproper also before)
This is a 2 CPU machine, P III. running Suse 6.3 as a distro, but updated kernel to 2.3.48.
root@linux:/usr/src/linux > uname -a Linux linux 2.3.48 #3 SMP Mon Mar 6 02:58:48 PST 2000 i686 unknown root@linux:/usr/src/linux > gcc --version egcs-2.91.66
root@linux:/usr/src/linux > make xconfig rm -f include/asm ( cd include ; ln -sf asm-i386 asm) make -C scripts kconfig.tk make[1]: Entering directory `/usr/src/linux-2.3.50/scripts' cat header.tk >> ./kconfig.tk ./tkparse < ../arch/i386/config.in >> kconfig.tk echo "set defaults \"arch/i386/defconfig\"" >> kconfig.tk echo "set ARCH \"i386\"" >> kconfig.tk cat tail.tk >> kconfig.tk chmod 755 kconfig.tk make[1]: Leaving directory `/usr/src/linux-2.3.50/scripts' wish -f scripts/kconfig.tk Error in startup script: can't read "CONFIG_SB_IRQ": no such variable while executing "set CONFIG_AEDSP16_SB_IRQ $CONFIG_SB_IRQ" (file "scripts/kconfig.tk" line 14004) make: *** [xconfig] Error 1 I am just curious, do these development releases get at least tested for a working make xconfig? I also had problem with make xconfig not working on 2.3.49.
thanks, Nasser
