hello,
more info...
I am finding more corrupted files.
for example, When I do
chmod -R nabbasi *
I see these messges show up in dmesg:
attempt to access beyond end of device 22:41: rw=0, want=1745879044, limit=35664268 EXT2-fs error (device ide3(34,65)): trunc_tindirect: Read failure, inode=2550916, block=436469760 init_special_inode: bogus imode (144) init_special_inode: bogus imode (0) init_special_inode: bogus imode (0) init_special_inode: bogus imode (10) init_special_inode: bogus imode (0) init_special_inode: bogus imode (34260) init_special_inode: bogus imode (34260) init_special_inode: bogus imode (0) init_special_inode: bogus imode (0) init_special_inode: bogus imode (5217) init_special_inode: bogus imode (5221) init_special_inode: bogus imode (0) init_special_inode: bogus imode (0) init_special_inode: bogus imode (0) init_special_inode: bogus imode (30) init_special_inode: bogus imode (34260) init_special_inode: bogus imode (34260) init_special_inode: bogus imode (57560)
etc..
and the shell reports input/output error messages on many files inthe tree.
I am starting to get little worried. I hope I do not have data corruption here...
thanks, Nasser
