a) Does it work? b) If it does, how do I make it work?
This is my first shot at using pcmcia with a 2.3.x kernel, so it is very possible I'm doing something wrong... Anyway, below are some messages I got. If I'm doing something wrong, any pointers are welcome.
*) Everything is modularized. *) It's a Toshiba Tecra 500cs laptop/paperweight.
try.1-1> modprobe pcmcia_core --> kernel: Linux PCMCIA Card Services 3.1.11 --> kernel: kernel build: 2.3.51 #1 Sat Mar 11 09:52:56 PST 2000 --> kernel: options: [pci] [cardbus] [pm]
try.1-2a> modprobe i82365 --> kernel: Intel PCIC probe: --> kernel: Intel i82365sl B step ISA-to-PCMCIA at port 0x3e0 ofs 0x00, 2 sockets --> kernel: host opts [0]: none --> kernel: host opts [1]: none --> kernel: ISA irqs (scanned) = 3,4,7,9,10,11 status change on irq 11
Nothing happens when I plug in a card in the socket(s)...
There seems to be some conflicts; I think this has already been reported by others:
try.2> modprobe -v cb_enabler /sbin/insmod /lib/modules/2.3.51/pcmcia/pcmcia_core.o /sbin/insmod /lib/modules/2.3.51/pcmcia/ds.o /lib/modules/2.3.51/pcmcia/ds.o: init_module: Device or resource busy /lib/modules/2.3.51/pcmcia/ds.o: insmod /lib/modules/2.3.51/pcmcia/ds.o failed
try.3> modprobe -v pci_socket /sbin/insmod /lib/modules/2.3.51/pcmcia/pcmcia_core.o /sbin/insmod /lib/modules/2.3.51/pcmcia/yenta.o /sbin/insmod /lib/modules/2.3.51/pcmcia/pci_socket.o /lib/modules/2.3.51/pcmcia/pci_socket.o: init_module: Device or resource busy /lib/modules/2.3.51/pcmcia/pci_socket.o: insmod /lib/modules/2.3.51/pcmcia/pci_socket.o failed
