I installed the patch yesterday and tested overnight, the timings I am seeing are only slightly different from the 2.2.13 latencies. For SCHED_FIFO tasks synchronized by signals from setitimer at 50Hz, I measure max scheduling jitter of +/- 640usec. I have stress tested with heavy disk activity, network traffic, proc accesses, and kernel rebuilds.
I have not tested SMP latencies. My system specs are:
Linux version 2.2.14 (root@vmebox) (gcc version egcs-2.91.66 19990314/Linux (egcs-1.1.2 release)) #1 Mon Feb 7 17:39:24 EST 2000

Many thanks for this very nice patch.
